Stars on Strings

KITCHENHAND PRODUCTIONS PROUDLY PRESENTS "STARS ON STRINGS" AS PART OF THIS YEAR'S ARTRAGE FESTIVAL.

Stars on Strings is a teaming of two one-act plays written and directed by two of PerthÂ’s newest young writers. These two tales will take you on a journey from childhood love, beyond death,
through several galactic dimensions and get you back in time to be reunited with your long lost adopted half step-sister from an illegal marriage.

A Guide for Patsy, the first of the plays, centres around a sleazy sex worker whoÂ’s hit a dead end in her life. Helped (or hindered) by an intergalactic civil servant with higher aspirations, she
must travel on a perilous journey to find her one true love and become the success she once dreamed she could have been. But wait, the ex-boyfriendÂ’s just come back into the picture, and
thatÂ’s definitely a gun in his pocket.

Then sit back, relax and try to figure out whatÂ’s going on whilst A Mob, a Dressing Room, and a Plastic Star demonstrates that itÂ’s ok to gamble on cane toad races, but not with the money of
the notorious Finnish Mafia (gasp!). When pop super-star Dessie Venus has a pay dispute (heÂ’s not getting any) he gets trapped in his dressing room with a mob of angry people outside one
door and some angry people from The Mob outside the other. But thatÂ’s not the worst of it: The make-up girl has a curling iron, the roadieÂ’s got the munchies and the agentÂ’s got a jar of
Vaseline. How much can a super-star take?!
