This production of Reginald Rose's Pulitzer-winning courtroom drama, made famous by the 1957 film starring Henry Fonda, was the undisputed sell-out smash of the 2003 Edinburgh Festival. Directed by Guy Masterson and cast with star-name stand-up comic, the play defied all expectation with no-holds-barred performances which left audiences standing in the aisles.

Set in 1950s New York, on the hottest day of the year, a young delinquent awaits sentencing for the manslaughter of his aggressive father in what appears to be an open and shut case.

Eleven jurors immediately vote for the chair... but one "just wants to talk."

During the heated deliberations, the hidden preconceptions and assumptions of the jurors are revealed in a work of brilliantly balanced tension. When faced with playing the hangman, each juror is forced to examine his own motivations.

'A powerful, cliff-hanging ninety minutes that strengthens one's resolve to go out and be a responsible citizen!' BBC Newsnight Review

'One of those rare experiences where everything click and magic occurs' The Herald

'This jaw dropper of a show will be talked about for years. Kill for a ticket.' Scottish Daily Mail
