For decades The King and I has captivated millions with its delightful story of the widowed woman teacher and the “barbarian” King.
Set in 1860's Bangkok and based on Margaret Landon's novel, "Anna and the King of Siam" and the life of Anna Leonowens, The King and I is the story of Anna, a British woman who has been hired by King Mongkut to teach his children and wives about western ways. Although they experience a difficult start in their relationship (mostly due to cultural differences), they eventually learn to understand and respect each other, and Â… fall in love.
A story of love and joy set to one of the most beautiful and unforgettable scores ever written, including 'Shall We Dance', 'I Whistle A Happy Tune', 'Hello Young Lovers' and 'Getting To Know You'. This show promises to be a lavish, luscious and triumphant new look at a time-honoured classic
