Kick Up the Dust 2003

Produced by A Different Corner Productions (ADC), KICK UP THE DUST 2003 is back for its third year, bigger – brighter – bolder! With two sold out years of up to 800 under our belt, NSW’s most successful band and dance competition is calling for national entries to kick up a musical dust-storm on 18 October at the Science Theatre, University of NSW.

From its humble beginnings in 2001, KICK UP THE DUST was produced to provide a platform for Asian-Australian musical talents to express their passion for music and promote a type of ‘alternative’ music not familiar to mainstream Australia. Today, KICK UP THE DUST has evolved into an iconic community event for musical expression, breaking all cultural barriers and stereotypes, aimed at bonding all with one key element, music! ALL WELCOME!!

Why the name KICK UP THE DUST? SimpleÂ… dust is pretty boring when itÂ’s lying around isnÂ’t it? Kick up the dust and feel the effects it can have!

KICK UP THE DUST aims to give the band and dance culture a brand new and impacting image. More importantly, a positive image for young people. KICK UP THE DUST is produced for young individuals to express themselves through music.

A celebration of cultural diversity, the spirit of KICK UP THE DUST is truly an Australian one. It is bringing together of youth from all cultures and backgrounds. It is about having a dream and following that dream. KICK UP THE DUST is about having fun on and off the stage without drugs and alcohol. KICK UP THE DUST says “Don’t just settle!”
