'Cab Sav' are here! The exciting new duo set to take the cabaret world by storm!
LIZ BOWIE (Les Miserables, Chess, Oedipus the King) and REBECCA KYPRI (The Promised Woman, Prelude to a Kiss, Chang and Eng) join forces to bring a new and exciting cabaret act to Australian audiences.
Rebecca and Liz, both graduates of Ensemble Acting Studios, have been working extensively in music, theatre and cabaret for over a decade.
Accomplished singers and performers of jazz, swing, music theatre, cabaret, opera, blues, rock and pop, they have merged their talents to form 'Cab Sav', providing musical diversity to appeal to a greater audience and to expose cabaret to a larger demographic.
Their first offering, Take One, promises to be an exciting ride for all. GEOFFREY CASTLES (Song and Dance, Little Shop of Horrors, Into the Woods, The Secret Garden) is the duo's musical director, and even he isn't sure what to expect!
Take One is a comic and moving journey through life, an open and funny look at love, at sex (whoÂ’s getting it and who isnÂ’t), at work (whoÂ’s getting it and who isnÂ’t), surviving shopping through a mid life crisis, at society, at the journey from acting student to unemployed actor, at men and why there arenÂ’t enough to go around and caffeine related neurosis.
The shows features music from the likes of The Andrew Sisters, Rossini, A.L Webber, Kander and Ebb, James Mellon, William Finn, Julie London and many more.
