After another sell-out night of cabaret with the recent return performance of Comedy Tonight, Play Right turns to a new venture that acknowledges its namesake! Our next production is a comic trio of very different one-act plays, including Ellen ByronÂ’s acclaimed piece 'Graceland', and two original works by well-known Melbourne playwrights - 'Juliet' by Stella Glorie, and 'The Last Dance of the Plum Sisters' from the award-winning pen of Michael Olsen. In the delightful performance space of the Cromwell Road Theatre in South Yarra, Play Right is proud to present these three hilarious short plays for two shows only, 2:00pm and 8:00pm Saturday July 5.
GRACELAND
June 4, 1982, 5am. ElvisÂ’s famous mansion is about to be opened to the public, and devoted fans Bev and Rootie are both absolutely determined to be the first one through those gates. Things are about to get interestingÂ…!
JULIET
Single and disillusioned. Single and on a mission. Single and utterly available. Single, and his own true love. ShakespeareÂ’s quartet of lovers were never this difficult!
THE LAST DANCE OF THE PLUM SISTERS
The music is playing. The champagne is flowing. And the bloke of their dreams is waiting for them at the party.
Trouble is, the Plum sisters are a little tied up at the momentÂ…
