George Gershwin (1898 – 1937) was a gifted composer who is known for his classical music pieces as much as his Musical Theatre. His major collaborator was his brother, lyricist Ira Gershwin. His classical works include Rhapsody In Blue, Piano Concerto In F, An American In Paris and the American folk opera Porgy & Bess that includes the well known song Summertime. Musical Theatre pieces include Lady Be Good, Oh Kay & Funny Face which feature songs like, Swanee, I’ll Build A Stairway To Paradise, I’ve Got Rhythm, The Man I Love & Someone To Watch Over Me, to name only a few.
