Based on Ingvar Ambjornsen's best selling novel Blood Brothers, Elling has had critical acclaim as both a stage play and a film with sell out performances on the European stage and an Academy Award nomination for Best Foreign Language Film in 2002.

After spending two years in a psychiatric clinic, Elling - fastidious and paranoid - and his best friend Kjell Bjarne - clumsy, hungry and obessed with getting laid - are set to return to the ‘real world’. In the unfamiliar surroundings of their new government granted flat and under the watchful eye of Frank the social worker, they struggle to make sense of the world around them and find their place within it.

Like other odd couples before them - Felix and Oscar, Ernie and Bert, Withnail and I, Lenny and George from Of Mice and Men - Elling is a classic tale of the amalgamation of opposites and the powerful friendships that can result. A tender comedy about overcoming obstacles and venturing forth into a new life.
