Blackbird Productions are proud to return to Chapel Off Chapel following their highly successful debut of A NEW BRAIN with William FinnÂ’s Tony Award winning musical FALSETTOS, directed and designed by Peter Tulloch.
FALSETTOS is a story of love in the face of modern conflicts. Marvin leaves his wife and son for a man but still wants them all to be one big happy family. Life gets more complicated when his wife marries his psychiatrist, his son is about to be Bar Mitzvah-ed and the lesbians next door are doing the catering. A joyous story of the struggle between values, love and forgiveness. William Finn touches on the joy and happiness of every family by depicting one very different family.
Currently playing at Chapel Off Chapel during the Midsumma Festival, FALSETTOS is laugh out loud funny, tuneful and heart wrenching and features some of the hottest stars of Australian stage and screen, including Jarrod Carland (Three Muskateers, Hello Dolly!, Back to Bacharach), Gina Hogan Jones (Witches of Eastwick, Mamma Mia, Beauty and the Beast), Brian Long (Only Heaven Knows) John OÂ’Hara (Shout! - the musical, Hair, And The World Goes Round) Meredith Chipperton (Hair, Buddy Holly Story), Casey Malady (Secret Life of Us) and introducing Brenton Spiteri as Jason.
Under the Musical Direction of Luke Hunter (Shout! – the musical, Into The Woods, Pacific Overtures, Jacques Brel is Alive and Well and Living in Paris) and Choreographed by Erica Chestnut (A New Brain, The Mikado, The Pirates of Penzance) FALSETTOS is the smash hit of the 2003 Midsumma Festival.
