This excellent adaptation of Brecht's masterwork "Mother Courage and her Children" provokes a passionate response as Clive Salvidge re-examines the essentials of the play, presenting aspects in new lights, and bringing home the relevance of the play to a local audience.
In this version, the focus is not on Mother Courage herself but on her dumb daughter, here re-named Nadya, and we experience the turbulent world of the play through her silent eyes as she tries to understand, as do we, a world torn a part by greed and selfishness.
Those who cherish the Brecht will not be disappointed, and neither will those who have yet to see the original. "Nadya's Courage" is a complete work, more than able to stand on its own.
We welcome all who are interested to our local production to support community theatre.
