Hey I have just spoken to a couple of girls who have left Brent Street before they finished the performing arts course, they said its gone down hill. Does anyone in NSW know whats happening there. When you read some of the musical theatre programs that tell you where the artists have studied, some say Brent Street but have moved on to other teaching facilities to study musical theatre.

I was looking at Brent Street but they say its just a dance school with fifty or more to a class. Its alot of money to pay for "just a dance school" And not even their professionals are getting any work

Not the only place anymore

There are good and bad points to brent St, like most places you deal with in general life. Personally, I'd go to ED5 in north Strathfield to do the Full Time Course, but you go to any show in Sydney and can be sure that most, if not all the ensemble have gone through Brent Street or are with Detour! It's ur choice where you go, and if you get involved with the politics that go with any type of performing arts/industry related establishment!

That makes sense you'd go

That makes sense you'd go to ed5 but all the talent in the shows are from brent street ?????????????????????

Huh

I dont go to either ED5 or Brent Street cos Im in another state but tell me about "all the talent in the shows are from Brent Street". Who is in the shows at the moment?? from either schools does anyone know. I didnt think there was any pro work at present besides Dusty and Boy from OZ. I heard there was more from WAAPA. Most of the good talent goes overseas, DW301 has their students on Londons West End

Hey everyone, I've been

Hey everyone, I've been reading quite a number of of these interesting statements and find that ok sure you all have your own oppinion. If they are uplifting and encouraging then great, share them but if they're not please keep them to yourselves. I can garuntee that if you were working your ass off to run a company to have successful results NO MATTER HOW MANY MISTAKES HAPPEN ON THE WAY (BECAUSE WE ARE ALL HUMAN FOR CRYING OUT LOUD)i can assure you that you would not appreciate people missjudging, misstreating and pulling you down. I was at Brent Street last year and it was a great experiance. Ok so the floors got dirty but i can bet that your bedroom could be worse. Some teachers left because of different reasons but those reasons are none of our business. If you went there and got nothing out of it you obviously didn't work hard enough. I worked my ass off that whole year with a re occuring injury, i was in the bottom classes for every style of dance but didn't complain and now i'm about to go over seas to dance for 6 months Words of encouragement: If you are one of those that have been complaining and the reasons deep down is because of jelousy and fearfullness that you wont make. Stop, now, look at where you need to improve, improve in that area and dont give up, please don't give up. Your dreams can come true. To the teachers at brent street thank you for not giving up on us and thank you for the potensial that you see in us. If you didn't see potensial in us you wouldn't have chosen us to be in the course in the first place. My best friend did Ed5 and had a ball and got so much out of it. Oh and to the rude person at K & V who now thinks that all competition has gone cause Brent Street have "lost" Camron. I was at a local Shire dancing school for 14 years and we just so happen to kick your asses at most estedfords. Although you guys are really gret at what you do and are a very reputable school. On that not i'm going and i hope that this message has spoken to and gotten through to some of you out there.

How pathetic

Its people like you that cause trouble and make this stupid forum on Brent Street go on and on. Your teachers want all you students to quit writing stuff. It doesnt matter what anyone else thinks of Brent Street. Noone has written anything for some time so dont give other people amunition to start all over again. It just goes on and on again. This has been going for nearly 8 months now and is ruining Brent Streets reputation. STOP IT DONT RESPOND TO ANYTHING ELSE. Brent Street kids please listen to your teachers and dont respond to crap written on this forum.

This thread has been very

This thread has been very entertaining. I'm an actor, not a dancer, so I have no experience with dance schools. However, having studied acting for 3 years full time, I'm a little confused by all of the harsh comments regarding kids dance classes. My only advice would be for the Brent St 'kids' to stop dancing for 5 minutes and learn how to spell.
