Not looking for work, just advice.
Sunday 20 September 2009
Hi there,
I am 13 years old, and before you sigh with frustration, realising this is just another one of those many girls posting on here, desperately trying to see if any one can give them any work..don't. I am not looking for work, and I understand that this is not the way to do it. I just want some advice: I did about half a year of drama at the local school, and then went on to do courses at NIDA for screen acting. I don't want to rush into things that I am out of my depth in, I just want some advice on where I should go next, should I continue doing NIDA courses, to get better at acting, and just stick with that? Should I go searching for an agent? Or am I not ready yet?
The thing is, my mum is really worried. She thinks that if I were to get an agent, it would be a very time consuming thing (going to auditions and all). She doesn't want me to miss any school, and she thinks that I am too young to have an agent, that agents are for when you've left school.. do you agree? I just need some advice from someone who knows. I am planning on asking one of my tutors, next time I do a course at NIDA aswell. My family doesn't know a whole lot about the whole screen acting thing...so any advice would be much appreciated.
I am also getting into musical theatre, so if you could recommend any good theatre companies (youth?) that would be great.
Thankyou so much,
Jessica
