An inanimate love story.
Tom works in an office and spends his nights searching for supernovae from the balcony of his bedsit. Ivy is writing her second children’s book "The Man With Ideas Coming Out Of His Ears", but she has writers block. They live next door to each other. Their building (not its residents) has decided they belong together. This is the summer it all happens.
A man in a suit produces a piece of chalk from his pocket and proceeds to mark out a pair of small rooms...speaking in a mixture of third and first person, switching between locations, times and characters both animate and inanimate we are taken through the summer that a pair of strangers become lovers.
Using illustration, manipulation, shadow puppetry, physical theatre and classic storytelling The Escapists (Attack of the Attacking Attackers!) bring you a one person show about a boy, a girl and an apartment block.
WARNING: Patrons with asthma or breathing difficulties are advised to sit towards the rear of the theatre as this production contains heavy use of chalk.
Created by Lucas Stibbard, Matthew Ryan, Jonathon Oxlade, Neridah Waters and Sarah Winter.
