Kalamunda Farmers market seeks buskers
Wednesday 13 May 2009
A new farmers market, just started in Kalamunda, seeks buskers.
The first week we had an estimated 6,000 visitors to the market (it coincided with Bickley Carmel Valley Harvest Festival) and the second week we had an estimated 2,000 visitors (even though it was Mothers Day).
We are offering chefs demonstrations to educate the public on the use of fresh and healthy ingredients and recipes and we are looking for buskers to entertain the shoppers.
Our intention is that where possible we will theme the day, for example we want to arrange a Chinese cooking demonstration and will use Chinese drumming ensemble buskers to create the atmosphere on Chinese New Year.
This coming Sunday we have a Turkish Gozleme cooking demonstration and a belly dancing school will be busking to create a middle eastern theme.
We are seeking busker (we have no funds to pay entertainers ) If you are interested in busking at the farmers market on a Sunday morning (we open at 8am and close at 12 noon every Sunday morning – it is located in Central Court, Kalamunda) please contact me at linda@johnstanley.cc.
They can view information on the market at http://www.kalamundachamber.com/farmers_market/kalamunda_farmers_market.phtml
Thanks very much
