A Karaoke Twist (2)

Remember when I had a yarn about supporting original theatre and we all thought it was such a noble cause? My crazy director forked out his own cash, just so he could produce his own script, because many of the Perth theatre companies wouldn’t give it a go, or even read it. This isn’t a healthy mentality if we want theatre to survive. Although, I do love them, there are only limited amounts of times I can see plays by Neil Simon and Eugene O’Neil. If we want to continue to get bums on seats in the coming decades we need to start seeing much more new material being produced (and seen). So, why haven’t you purchased your tickets for “A Karaoke Twist”, which is playing at the Old Mill Theatre? Is it because you’re lazy? Or do you have a problem with a capitalistic system with requires you to part with some of your money for a service? It is after all a service, because we provide you with entertainment. Anyway, get in there because after the end of the month, you won’t be able get the tickets over the phone (thanks BOCS), and you have to physically go in there and buy them. Frankly, who wants to do that? I wouldn’t. I have enough trouble getting up to change the television station. Therefore get in there now. Bring your friends; they’ll think it’s funny. Bring your girlfriends; they will think it’s sexy. Bring your wives (one per person); they will think it’s relevant. However, don’t bring your mistresses or pets – they will both cause a lot of shit. Did I mention if you get your ticket, you get to see me, that obnoxious guy off the Theatre Australia site? Ever wondered what my acting ability is like? Ever wondered if my photography resembles reality? Come and find out! For all you reluctant guys out there, there are two very attractive and talented young ladies in this play - Natalie and Claire, who will stun you with their exceptional talent. Please come. It’s a very FUNNY and MODERN play, dealing with what men and women want from each other. It has comedy. It has drama … well not really. It discusses profound philosophical arguments like; what’s the best car to drive, what clothes are fashionable and will model trains help you to get sex*?
