Help for new performance costumes.

I am a member of a community choir in Brisbane. For a non audition community choir we sound good and we are quite popular and perform regularly at a range of venues. ( City Hall to nursinghomes). We have a yearly concert which is held in the Brisbane Consevatorium. The last performance we experimented with a range of costume props to add a visual aspect to our performance. We are now looking for a new general performance outfit. To date we have used black skirt with a uniform red top. Although it has done well, we are ready for a change. We are looking for something a little more elegant for the ladies, without becoming too dowdy. Of course as with most community choirs, our average age is probably well into the 50s and we have also a variety of figures. We are now looking for something that creates a "wow" effect, but that is at the same time manageable and realistic. Has any one any ideas?
