THE REUNION

statementevents

Monday 6 October 2008

THE REUNION THE REUNION is set in the present. Edwin Jones a crime boss organises six retired Police Officers to a reunion. The ex officers are Andrew Farrel (Retired Detective Inspector), Natalie Goodwin (Retired Detective Sergeant), Ezza Cropp (The flabouyant retired Police Prosecutor with a cutting sense of humour), Dick Keane (Retired Street Cop), Maggie O'Toole (Retired street cop and ex work mate of Dicks) and Allan Dane (Retired Detective Sergeant). All of the group never liked each other. When all the ex officers arrive at the house they are spoken to by Rocky Talarino (Edwin's henchman) and Lillian Dominash (Housemaid). The group are promised the sum of twenty thousand dollars if they stay together in the house for one week until 7.pm. the following Monday night. They all agree. The only catch is that one of them is going to die. A tape is played bearing the voice of Edwin Jones. Jones died six months ago and issued certain conditions for the group to follow. Jones organised the reunion so he could have his revenge from the grave. All the ex officers at sometime framed him for crimes he did not commit and as a result he served lengthy gaol sentences. Each person is given an envelope. One of the envelopes contains the name of a person to be murdered and a cheque for two million dollars to holder of the envelope providing the murder is carried out. One of the other persons must solve the murder with a reward of sixty thousand dollars. If nothing happens then no one receives anything. Everyone is to be locked in the house and there is no way out until 7pm the following Monday. The play is spellbinding in that it has some humour but is chilling and heartstopping. The audience will be kept to the edge of their seats as the play progresses and finally left speechless. The members of Triune have just released their new play The Reunion.
