Collaborators - I Need You for a new Musical!

I've spent the last 12 months writing and re-writing a musical. I've finally come up with a script (at the 3rd draft) and some good songs, but now I need some help. I can write ballads til they come out my ears, but I just can't get the more upbeat songs to work for me.... Also, I think the script could use a little bit of external influence - I'm sure it's good, but I think it could be even better. So, I'm looking for a few collaborators, to get this thing to the point where it could be put forward for production. The intent is to get it together at a community theatre - of course, if it was picked up by someone on Broadway I wouldn't complain either!! (But then I'd pinch myself, and wake up) My vision for this is that we have a talented group of artists who complete the script & music, and remain involved as creative & musical directors, actors, set, costume & lighting designers, etc. However, I'd like to see people involved who've never done this before (like me) - so we can throw out a little bit of convention, and make this something brand new in the theatre world. The play is about battling through mental illness & finding love at the same time - of course there is a measure of tragedy about it, but I've tried to keep it kind-of light, and I think I've succeeded. So, the people I need are: 1. Script collaborators, who can read my script and add on (or take off) to make it better. 2. Songwriters, or lyricists and musicians, who can write upbeat, perky or quirky songs (to balance out the ballads I can churn out by the bucketload). 3. (In time) an orchestrator who can make our music awesome for an audience to listen to. I'd really like to hear from anyone who would like to help out - this would all be voluntary of course....but I could probably buy you with a nice bottle of champagne when the thing finally comes together! I'm so excited about this - I have big ideas for staging, and lighting, and costuming - I just need the script and music to be perfect before I start - is that too much to ask?? Arts need homes, it is true, but art will flourish even where there is no home, so long as artists remain....)
