The legend of Tristan and Isolde has been told many ways and there are at least a dozen versions in film, as recently as 2011. It was the subject of one of Wagner's best known operas.
Baring has attempted a prosaic and erstwhile accent in the language of this play, later called blank verse and published as poetry. It works for me. The overall effect is a classical style in plain words. To be fair, this work is a juvenile product. If you are a writer looking for a classic to mutilate, this could be great material. I prefer the mature writing.
Tristan & Isolde is just the tip of the iceberg, He published several full length plays and a volume containing no less than twenty one-act plays, here are some links to his broader works. The list is long and rich.
