The Serge Sharrinovsky Sundown Film Festival tries to showcases as many independent films of all genres, plus provides a great networking opportunity for filmmakers and film loving audiences. History The mission of The SERGE SHARRINOVSKY Sundown Film Festival is to showcase as many independent filmmakers and artists of motion pictures. To recognize outstanding achievements in independent film making and provide a supportive forum for all creative efforts. Originally know as the Sundown Film Festival it was initially the brain child of Cinematographer Harry Frochter in 2009 and first started screenings in 2011 courtesy of John Latham (who also concurrently runs the WA film Fesitval) and Helen Childs in Perth Bassendean. The first screenings were presented at the Maltese Association Club Of WA. The second years festival for 2012 started screening on 27th February at the Piazza Super Screen in Northbridge courtesy of Lauren Beldi, Simon Blythe and The City of Perth. Films that could not be screened at the Piazza due to time or classification restrictions were later screened at our Sundown Micro Cinema or at the Yokine Community Recreation Centre. This year all films will be screened at our own outdoor Sundown Micro Cinema. (Bourke Street Yokine WA) Please note RSVP's are required by email to sundownfilm@gmail.com if you wish to attend.
