Phil Thomson steps down as WAYTCo Artistic Director

After six amazingly successful years, our Artistic Director Phil Thomson has decided that increased opportunities both as director, performer and producer, as well as an international opportunity to contribute to an important work in the UK means that he is no longer in a position to lead WAYTCo. Phil Thomson has been of immense influence in determining the current direction of the company, encouraging WAYTCo to appeal directly to young people under 27 rather than concentrate on schools bookings, programming more edgy and visceral large cast plays that have mainly young characters to play, and implementing a program of devised theatre works “Blood, Sweat & Tears” and “Earth, Wind & Fire”.
