Theatrical Producers are invited to Creative Collaboration's rehearsed reading of a new Australian play. 'Metalhead' by Tiffany Barton, will be performed on the 2nd of December at 7pm at The Blue Room Theatre, 53 James street, Northbridge, Perth WA. You are cordially invited to a rehearsed reading of 'METALHEAD' By Tiffany Barton and directed by James Winter. This play is a gritty portrayal of youth alienation, endemic family violence, spirituality, hope and redemption. Set in a fictional town in the Australian desert, the story explores connections with the land and spiritual self by blurring the bounds of magic and realism through music, dance and the voices within. Jake and Jackie are siblings trying to come to terms with a fractured family and a violent past. Their buddy, Baloo, acts as a mediator between them but struggles to assert himself in the face of Jake’s domination and intimidation. Step-siblings Tyler and Michaela are stuck in a claustrophobic caravan and co-dependent relationship. Into their lives enter Freeman and Mercy; two nomads who seemingly arrive from nowhere and profess to have the answer to their problems. Please join us for a rehearsed reading of this provocative new play written by Perth playwright, Tiffany Barton and directed by Sydney director, James Winter. The reading will also feature an exciting ensemble of emerging indigenous acting talent and will feature: choreography by Claudia Alessi and Justina Trescott; design by Alison Brayford; and costume design by Arnavaz Lindsey. Developed by Creative Collaborations in association with The Blue Room Theatre 53 James St Northbridge 7pm Friday 2nd December 2011
