SCRIPT ASSESSMENTS
Thursday 16 June 2011
can anyone help with a query about script assessment protocol?
is it ok to provide some sort of explanation of a script - other than a synopsis?
or to ask for a specific aspect of the work to be looked at or ignored?
i mean, will script reviewers be miffed if they get a little orientation blurb? or direction to review just one aspect of a script?
say for example, could i ask 'do not consider for main house production'?
i ask because, sometimes it feels like dramaturgs and script reviewers use 'for main house production' or 'for publication' as a sort of criteria against which they make their comments - and understandably so.
but what if you just wanted some aspect of the work looked at - or not looked at - as the case may be.
for instance would i be able to ask a reviewer to look at scene construction rather than character development?
