Hello everyone, If you're looking for a great class to learn, brush up or sharpen your acting skills please allow me to direct your focus to one of the best teachers in all of Australia - Natela Dzuliashvili. As one of the only certified teachers of the Michael Chekhov acting training and the "Real" Stanislavski technique, Natela has taught some of the most prolific actors of Australia. But this blog more or less is about my own experience. I stumbled onto her website www.actingworld.com just over a year ago when i was in my final year at the Adelaide college for performing arts. I remember how i was looking for a certain method or technique that would unlock my talents. At drama school we never studied one technique or method, we were taught ten different things every week. Obviously this confused so many of the students and didn't allow us a good period of time to develop on any one of them. I remember doing the psychological gesture one afternoon only to never hear a word from that teacher about it again. When i finished school i again stumbled onto her Natela's website. It was more than a coincidence for me, so i jumped in with both hands - i was the 13th in the class, lucky i just got in and lucky cause 13 is my lucky number. Natela has such a warm aura about her and her caring and generous nature allowed so many of us in the class to open up and just suprise ourselves. We learnt everything from psychological gesture, stage presence (actual presence-radiating) to using our imaginations to create physical characteristics and real emotions. My final performance was the most fun ever, and dare i say pretty good. The entire experience was great for me, not just as an actor but as a person.
