"The One that You Want" returns!!! ... G-String Productions returns with the popular cult musical Grease. Set in 1959 at the fictional Rydell High School, we follow the story of Danny, Sandy, the Pink Ladies and the T-Birds as they navigate their way through adolescence, love and friendship. Grease premiered on Broadway in 1972 and played for 3388 performances becoming the longest running musical at that time. It has triumphed throughout the world ever since. In 1978 Grease went on to become the hugely successful film where John Travolta solidified his position as the most versatile and magnetic screen presence of the decade and recording star Olivia Newton-John made her American debut. An all new live stage revival promises to bring back this quintessential musical and the fabulous 50s This March, Longford audiences will be treated to some of the finest performing and singing talent Northern Tasmania has to offer. The show features Cayden Richards (The Producers) as Danny, Heidi Cooper (Les Miserables) as Sandy, Ashton Maher (SHOUT) as Rizzo and Shelly Spencer (The Boy From Oz) in the role of Marty. There will also be a special guest appearance by John de Jong (Celtic Force) as the Teen Angel. With a cast of 17 and a live band, Grease will be an energetic and exciting night of classic rock n roll ... and nostalgic giggles.
