Position Open: Artistic Associate - Junior Ensemble Project

Artistic Associate – Junior Ensemble Project July 28 – December 5, 2010 Shopfront creates innovative and contemporary performance working from the experiences of young people. We are looking for a dynamic and passionate artist to work with a diverse range of young people aged 8 - 15 in the creation of an original theatre work. The ideal person will have substantial experience directing, devising and working with play-building in this age group, and a solid understanding of contemporary theatre practice. Specialised skills in physical theatre, puppetry or music are an advantage. Terms of Contract: 16 weeks commencing July 27 and concluding with a short season in the first week of December 2010. The Artistic Associate will be responsible for the creative development of the Junior Company within the general workshop program and Junior Ensemble Project. Workshop and rehearsal periods will include Saturdays with additional hours required as the project progresses. The Artistic Associate is a paid position.
