Artistic Director Required - "Carnival Distorian - Costume Emporium" 2010

*********DIRECTOR REQUIRED************************************************************ In November the Swinburne (Prahran campus) Diploma Costume for Performance students, will be displaying their final costume assignment pieces. There are 18 students in total, each student has two models, a male and a female each. Throughout the year each student is manufacturing their costumes for their choosen era as well as making, millinery, masks, jewellery, and some undergarments etc. The location of the production will be at the Swinburne University, Prahran campus theatre called the "David Williams Theatre". The dates for production are the Melbourne Cup week, Thur-Sat, with a matinee show, and early evening show on Saturday. The theatre has been booked for two weeks prior to the prodction for bump in and rehursals. A team of second year theatre students is currently being put together to assist the director in putting the production together. The theatre students will be assistant director, Lighting designer, sound designer, script writer, props construction and marketing. Part of the design students assessment is the marketing, props, coordination and all fundraising of the exhibition, for the exhibition. We do not get assesssed on the stage management and directorship of the project, therefore we need a DIRECTOR to help us put the production together. The overall concept of the show is a vintage 1940s carnival, that is initially rundown and closed. We will be drawing on the resources of the theatre students and NICA students as performers for the models. The extras will be drawn from NICA (National Institute of Circus Arts) and second year theatre students to complete the production. A team of 12 makeup artist students is being put together and a film and photogrpahy team for recording the event. We have a job description form, and would love to meet and interview any person's interested in the position of 'Director', as soon as possible. I am one of the two coordinators for the exhibition.
