Theatres in Sydney

I would like some advice: I am a British actress living in Sydney and I would like to get more experience within Australian theatre. I am looking to join a semi professional / profit share theatre company in Sydney. Does anybody have any advice on where to start and how it is best to start contacting companies? Thanks Laura.
