“Tragedy tomorrow, comedy tonight!” “A Funny Thing Happened On The Way To The Forum” is a farce that is light, fast-paced, witty, irreverent and one of the funniest musical comedies ever written. It takes comedy back to its roots, combining situations from time-tested, 2000 year old comedies of Roman playwright Plautus with the infectious energy of classic vaudeville.
The time is two hundred years before the Christian era, the place is a street in Rome in front of the houses of Erronious, Senex and Lycus.
