JACK THE RIPPER THE MUSICAL

Koorliny Arts Centre is holding auditions on April 29 for Jack the Ripper The Musical, which screams onto stage in July 2012. Presented by the centre, with direction by Cat Baxter and choreography by Allan Blachford, the musical is set in a music hall and surrounding London Street. The play is a musical reconstruction of incidents relating to the East End murders which took place between Friday, August 31 and Friday, November 9, 1888. More of an atmospheric commentary than an historical re-enactment, the play shifts between reality and artificiality, with characters representing "real" people as well as members of the music hall audience and players.
