Equus Auditions

Peter Shaffer’s EQUUS is a true theatrical masterpiece. Described as “AN ELECTRIFYING EVENING OF THEATRE” by The Sunday Times. EQUUS follows Dr Martin Dysart as he investigates the harrowing case of Alan Strang, a 17 year old boy accused of viciously blinding six horses with a stake. As Dysart puts together the pieces of this psychological puzzle in “a menacing, magical world where the prospect of being devoured by darkness is always imminent” (NY TIMES) we are drawn into an intensely visceral theatrical experience. THAT Production Company is auditioning for the following cast members for it's production of EQUUS: Dr Martin Dysart: (Male 35+) Psychiatrist, Lead Male Dolton: (Male 25+) Stable Owner Horses: (Any Gender, Any Age) Auditionees for Dysart or Dolton should prepare a two minute monologue and be prepared to do cold reads from the script. Auditionees for Horses should prepare anything they feel demonstrates why they are best for the role (songs, movement pieces, dances, monologues etc). The potential for this audition is limitless, we are willing to see you do anything.
