Elanora Player's July production will be One Flew Over The Cuckoo's Nest - written by Ken Kesey - directed by Kerrie King. Overview The play is set in a mental asylum ruled by Nurse Ratched, an ex army nurse with a cruel, malicious personality. All is calm in the wards until McMurphy arrives. Thinking he can have an easy ride at the hospital he pleads insanity to a misdemeanor and finds himself in a worse environment than prison. He questions Nurse Ratched's daily routine and treatment of the men, some of whom seem quite normal, only to eventually become one of her victims. This powerful play first published in 1962 challenges the system and provides some very interesting acting roles.
