You may only be asked to perform one of the songs on the day, or even just an excerpt of a song. Please be prepared to be stopped and started. You will need to bring sheet music for the audition pianist. Music should be clearly marked with repeats and any cuts and should be in the correct key for your voice. We prefer you to sing with our audition pianist, however if you only have a CD/iPod backing this will be acceptable. A CD/iPod player will be available. No a cappella auditions please.
Section 2: Acting – You will be asked to undergo a cold script read of scene/s from the show. You may also prepare a short monologue from Monty Python if you like. If you choose not to prepare a monologue, you will be given something from the show on the day. You will also be asked to demonstrate accents relevant to the character/s you are auditioning for. All male auditionees must be prepared to demonstrate both an upper class and lower class English accent. Lady of the Lake auditionees should prepare an upper class English accent.
