Character List
Bauermann: This is the lead role in the play. A demanding role that will require high energy and much emotional exporting. This character is white-haired in his late 50’s and upwards. He has a gentleness about him and an occasional look on his face as if he was pleading for help.
Dr Hilde Kirshner: This is another leading role. Aged between her late 50’s upwards. She is the head of the Hohlehof Mental health Sanatorium with a thoroughness and efficiency yet with a pronounced sympathetic quality.
Probation Officer: A masculine lady who has a strong interior as well as an outward one. Demanding, dislikable character to the audience. Aged in her 30’s and upwards.
Dr Lisa Morgan: Bauermann’s daughter. She has led a life in England at an early age but has also known what it feels like not to have a father figure. A knowledge on effects of a person who has not had the figures of a mother and a father in their life a plus. Very English in her manner and appearance and a rather pompous person, whose age would be in her late 30’s.
Metz: A large and powerful man who’s job it is to look after the patients in the Sanatorium. Age not relevant.
Secretary: Minor role for a young woman. This secretary is not always organized and it shows during the course of the play. Age not relevant.
