An INFORMATION NIGHT will be held on Monday 1st February 2010 at 8pm at Beaumaris Theatre, 82 Wells Rd, Beaumaris, 3193 (Melways 86G6) for the July 2010 production.
Auditions, strictly by appointment will be held on Friday 5th of February, Sun 7th February and Monday 8th February. Please call Director Debbie Keyt on 0401 450 979 to book an audition time. It will be extremely beneficial for all auditionees to attend the information session.
In Austria, just before World War II, Maria Rainer is a postulant in the Nonnberg Abbey in Salzburg. However she is struggling with the discipline of the abbey and a life away from the hills she loves. The Mother Abbess tells Maria that she should spend some time outside the abbey to help her decide whether she is ready for the monastic life. The seven children of widower Captain Georg von Trapp need a governess, and Maria will act as their governess until September. Her life and the lives of the von Trapp family are changed forever, helped by the music Maria brings to their lives.
