"Don't Dress for Dinner" is a frenetic case of mistaken identity with twist after hilarious twist. When Jacqueline plans to visit her mother for a few days, her husband, Bernard, sees an opportunity for a cosy weekend with his new mistress. His bachelor friend, Robert, calls to announce his return from Hong Kong, so Bernard invites him along as his alibi, also hiring a Cordon Bleu-level cook to cater a delicious dinner. But when Jacqueline realizes Robert is coming to stay, everything changes, and the high speed farce begins! One ludicrous situation leads to another as the hapless friend, Robert, find himself the target of both amorous attention and wrathful vengeance, while Bernard tries desperately to salvage a scrap of illicit bliss from the chaos of the weekend.
CAST:
BERNARD (Jacqueline's husband) 40+
JACQUELINE (Bernard's wife and Robert's lover) 30+
ROBERT (Bernard's friend and Jacqueline's lover) 40+
SUZETTE (the cook)
SUZANNE (Bernard's mistress) 20+
GEORGE (Suzette's husband)
AGES: The ages of all characters shown are purely a guide as the are, to an extent, indeterminate. However, the part of Bernard has to be played by someone who would look older than his mistress (Suzanne). Suzette and Geroge can be of any age from 30 upwards. Based on this, the audition will be held with an open minded approach to ages and attention paid to the best 'pairing' of those who attend.
