Mummy Loves You Betty Ann Jewel is a charming play by emerging theatre company, Aleela Creatives in association with The Blue Room. Mummy Loves You Betty Ann Jewel is a lively two-hander that offers a look inside the truths of mother-daughter relationships in all their glory and all their ugliness. It is a fast paced, compelling play with music and songs. Mummy and Betty battle through the highs and lows of their tenuous relationship proving the duo can never really function like we think the relationship should. We need a Mummy! 30 - 40 years old and/or mature appearance On the surface she is your typical 1950s housewife. She upholds a feminine and elegant demeanour which she desperately tries to impose on Betty. As the play unfolds we discover that beneath Mummy's feminine facade stands a very lonely woman, filled with resentment toward her daughter who she blames for taking away her independence and career. Auditions will be held on Saturday 21st November and Sunday 22nd November Lazy Susan's Comedy Den Upstairs at the Brisbane Hotel Cnr Brisbane and Beaufort Streets, Highgate Please prepare a song of your choice - we just want to get an idea of your voice/range. We will provide a CD player for backing tracks or (should you choose) you are more than welcome to sing a capella. Please prepare a monologue of your choice.
