And Then There Were None
Ten people are stranded in a lonely house on Soldier Island, off the coast of Devon. Their supposed hosts send word that they have been detained. A mysterious voice, afterwards discovered to come from a record player, indicates each one of them, the eight guests and the two servants, of murder. It transpires that no-one has met their hosts and that they have evidently decoyed to the island. First one and then another dies, each one according to the rhyme “Ten Little Soldier Boys”. With every death, one of the little china soldier boys on the mantlepiece in the living room of the house is found broken. The tension grows as they realise the killer is one of themselves...
