Synopsis:
Winner of the Tony Award for Best Play, this modern classic originated at the Abbey Theatre, Dublin. Among many other things Dancing at Lughnasa is about our need for a past, for memories, and our need constantly to revisit and re-invent those memories. Set in 1936 in Ireland, it tells the story of the five unmarried Mundy sisters who live together in a modest croft in Ballybeg, a small town in Donegal. The sisters share their love of music, dance and each other, where sharp judgements will always give way to loving forgiveness.
