Among many other things Dancing at Lughnasa is about our need for a past, for memories, and our need constantly to revisit and re-invent those memories. Set in 1936 in Ireland, it tells the story of the five unmarried Mundy sisters who live together in a modest croft in Ballybeg, a small town in Donegal. The sisters share their love of music, dance and each other, where sharp judgements will always give way to loving forgiveness. Characters: 5 females ranging in age from 40ish to 26ish. Must have good Irish accent and be able to dance. 1 male 20-30 plays the narrator, Irish accent 1 male 50ish slight Irish accent but more English 1 male 30ish Welsh accent, a good ballroom dancer.
