HOT MIKADO

"HOT MIKADO" is a jazzed-up version of Gilbert & Sullivan's "The Mikado" which follows the same storyline as the original script. The score uses 1940's popular musical harmonies and arrangements with a wide range of styles including hot gospel, blues, rock and swing. CAST CHARACTERS: (Please note - ages are a guide only) KO-KO (Tenor aged 30 - 45) A former tailor who is now the Lord High Executioner of Titipu. Bethrothed to Yum-Yum. Small, meek and somewhat of an idiot. Comic character with high energy. NANKI-POOH (Tenor aged 20 - 30) Young and naive. Very handsome and oblivious to the affect he has on women. (Should play some trumpet) YUM-YUM (Soprano 18 - 30) The ward of Ko-Ko. Pretty, kind and oblivious. A romantic and a day dreamer. (Has to belt) KATISHA (Alto aged 30 - 45) Nani-Poo's spurned, older suitor. Loud, intimidating and vampish. PEEP BO (Alto aged 18 - 30) Yum-Yum's sister and the youngest of the Little Maids. No so bright, but adorable. PISH TUSH (Tenor aged 20 -40) Pooh Bah's lap dog. Lots of energy and love attention. PITTI SING (Mezzo aged 20 -40) Yum Yum's siter and the leader of the Three Little Maids. Smart, mature and feisty. POOH BAH (Tenor aged 30 -50) The Lord High "everything else". Very smart, selfish and mannipulative. THE MIKADO (Tenor aged 30 - 60) The leader of Japan who strikes fear into all citizens. Nanki-Poo's father. (Ability to Tap an advantage) GENTLEMEN OF JAPAN - The male ensemble ages 18 - 50 (sing/dance) LADIES OF JAPAN - The female ensemble ages 18 - 50 (sing/dance) To audition for this exciting, high enegy show please contact Alex either by phone on 9409 1009 or email alex_suemclennan@bigpond.com in order to book an audition time. You will be required to prepare a song to present to the audition panel that adequately shows what you can do.
