The Small Poppies is a play about the first year of school, set in Australia during the 1980s. While it has some very moving scenes it is also very funny.
It is an ensemble piece with each actor playing a range of characters. Adult actors play the year-one students. The script calls for a minimum of 6 actors – 3 females and 3 males. Age and ethnic background are not important. It requires strong actors aged from 20 years up who are prepared to play a variety of different roles, extend themselves, take a risk and work as a team. Some parts require an accent (Greek and Cambodian) and some the ability to hold a tune like a year-one student. For a full character list and further information see our website:

Reading: Saturday, 2nd February @ 2pm
