YOUNG ACTORS STUDIO

Offered at NIDA in Brisbane at QPAC (Southbank)

Young Actors Studio is a pre-vocational Acting Studio at NIDA over 4 terms for ages 16 to 20 year olds. Entry is by audition only.

Rose Byrne is a graduate and ambassador for the Young Actors Studio.  Lucinda Shaw, who recently scored the starring role in the Australian production of Spamalot is also a recent Young Actors Studio graduate.

This course develops acting skills for stage and screen, giving access to expert tuition in a variety of acting styles. It offers opportunities to work with other talented young people while acquiring an understanding of professional standards. You will be challenged, encouraged and extended in all areas of performing arts. The focus is practical with numerous opportunities to present work and a final end-of-year performance in a theatre.

FEES

The total fees for 2008 are $3,200 including GST.  Fees are payable over five instalments of $640.

APPLICATIONS

Applications for 2008 are now open.  Entry is by audition.

For the audition please prepare a one minute piece to perform on your own based on one of the following topics:

- I have a dream
- Out of the blue

Please wear comfortable clothing to the audition. The decision of the audition panel is final.
