What does tennis player Wayne Arthurs, a mafia boss, a telemarketing call centre, an industrial washer factory and an under-funded orphanage all have in common? Well, not much. But they all play an integral part in this new Australian play.
Everybody has dreamt at some stage in their life about winning the Lottery; the answer to all of life’s problems. But what would really happen if you took out first division?
Basically 3-plays-in-1, Lottery takes a satirical look at the three winners of a Lotto super draw and what effects the money has on their life. Seen by many to be the ultimate answer, these three short stories show how a successful financial windfall, can bring all you deepest, darkest problems bubbling to the surface.
Consisting of a cast of nine, Lottery offers a unique acting opportunity, as each cast member plays a completely different role in each of the three plays.
Funny, sad, brutal and often offensive, this uniquely suburban Australian play will certainly have something for everybody.
