Dirty Work at the Crossroads

Dirty Work at the Crossroads is a mirthfully tear-jerking story of Nellie Lovelace, an innocent country girl and the dastardly Munro. Munro, the viper has a wife, Ida Rhinegold, the dastardly belle of New Haven Music Halls, but that does not prevent him from pursuing Nellie and tearing her from the arms of her dying mother (whom he has poisoned). Nor does it prevent him from driving Adam Oakhart, the blacksmith's son - and Nellie's true love, to drink, or from blackmailing rich Mrs. Asterbilt, and bewitching her daughter, Leonie. Add to this colorful mix of characters the antics of the bumbling rustic, Mookie who has his eye on the Asterbilt's French Maid (ooooh la la!) This is a popcorn throwin', hootin' and hollerin' melodrama of the first order.

Auditions will be held for this year's melodrama "Dirty Works at the Crossroads", directed by Michelle Carr-Fiddes and Cheryl Ballantine, Sunday 27th August, 7.30pm. THE WIDOW LOVELACE, as sweet as she is simple
MUNRO MURGATROYD, as wild as he is wicked.
IDA RHINEGOLD, as deep as she is dyed
MOOKIE MAGUGGINS, as rude as he is rustic
MRS UPTON ASTERBILT, of the best upper class
LEONIE ASTERBILT, her daughter
FLEURETTE, their French maid
LITTLE NELL, who never had a father.

And of course the chorus: singers and dancers. Bring a song if you are planning to audition for a singing role. A short dancing audition will be held also.
