Hedda Gabler

Actor, director and respected academic Collin O'Brien will direct Ibsen's Hedda Gabler for the Graduate Dramatic Society in a season running 26th July - 5th August 2006.

Auditions will be held on Sunday 21st May from 10am to 4pm.

Collin doesn't want people to learn parts from the play - he likes to see people two at a time, and he'll give them excerpts from the script to read. He is interested in their concept of the character/s they're interested in playing, so it would be beneficial to have some knowledge of the play.

He will be using the Michael Meyer translation. Of course it's not essential for people to find the same one. He likes to talk to people to explore their potential, but if anybody has a very short piece they wish to show him that will be okay. The process will be friendly, not intimidating.
