Calling out for actors to perform in our production that will be shown in late May, early June. The show will consist of two short plays
Play #1 “A Clockwork Blue”
“Assumption is the mother of all evils. But then evil is the mother of all assumptions…”
Loosely based on a murder committed in Albany W.A. on New Years Eve 2003, “A Clockwork Blue” is a play where two police officers try to get to the bottom of an unusually hedonistic crime spree.
Male Officer: Early to mid 20s, macho, tries to be blasé, ends up looking bravado, impulsive.
Female Officer: Mid to late 20s, more experienced than male officer, stands up to interviewees.
Damien: age 17-23, calm, collected, speaks concisely and clearly. First person to be interviewed.
Dan: 17-23, primal, speaks more crudely than Damien, likes to barb police officers, has an unshaven more motley look. Second person to be interviewed.
James: 18-25, withdrawn, cagey, nervous, submissive, doesnÂ’t know what to do or say. Third person to be interviewed.
Small part: Another officer who is in charge of escorting prisoners in interviewing room.
Play #2 “A Place in the Dirt”
A moody film noir/twilight zone mystery. The play involves a bizarre love triangle, a death and a couple of bureaucrats.
Rene: Female, 20-23, drifting, slightly withdrawn, cold, articulate, thoughtful, loner.
Robert: Male, 20-23, naïve, hard-working, easy-going, tries to make peace with everyone, indecisive.
Lauren: Female, 20-22, outgoing, chatterbox, slightly attractive, happy most of the time.
Gabrielle: Female, 20-25, person who interrogates Rene, straight shooting talker, appears to be calm and business like, but deep down has a few issues to contend with.
Michael: Male, 20-30, person who follows up on GabrielleÂ’s progress, frozen, business like, more of a flat than a round character, but can be fun to play with.
