From the novel Washington Square, by Henry James.
The production goes up in mid November in the Dolphin Theatre, UWA. A wonderful little theatre, which is a pleasure to perform in. If youve never trodden the boards outside of a church hall, do yourself a favour and try for a part in a REAL theatre, with one of Perth's most experienced Directors. If anyone ever deserved to be called the "Doyenne" of local theatre, it would be Connie Ord.
Catherine:(The heiress) very strong lead role for an actress in her 20's. Good dramatic and emotional range required.
Her Father: 40-50. Another strong role
Her Fiancee: Mid 20's. Somewhat enigmatic.
We're never quite sure whether he's a good guy or a golddigger.
2 Aunts, of auntyish age.(Small parts)
1 maid. Busy role. Good fun.
1 female cousin. ( v small part)
The 3 leads need really good people.
