A final year Curtin University production is currently seeking actors for the short film "Hot Suzey". It is a curious tale of two sisters, a grandmother that comes back from the dead and a frying pan imbued with the spirit of a dead woman.
There are 5 major characters as well as 2 minor characters and extra roles available.
MAJOR CHARACTERS
EVA, the introspective younger sister of Rosie who is visited by her dead grandmother with instruction to find "Hot Suzey". Female actor required aged between 25-35 with dark hair.
ROSIE, Eva's practical older sister who struggles against the bizarre evens going on around her and surprisingly returns to save the day. Female actor required aged between 28-38 with dark hair.
BABA, Eva and Rosie's grandmother who comes back from the dead to give her granddaughters a message that will save their lives and their sense of family. Female actor required aged between 60-80.
HOT SUZEY, an 18th century eastern European woman who flees her homeland with her daughter and finds herself hung for murdering a man in defense of her daughter. Female actor required aged between 25-40. A person of a eastern European decent or appearance is desirable.
MILA, the young daughter of Hot Suzey who is saved by her mother and is the ancestor of Eva, Rosie and Baba. Female child actor required aged between 6-11. A person of a eastern European decent or appearance is desirable.
MINOR CHARACTERS
Eva as a young child. Female child actor required aged between 6-11.
Rosie as a young girl. Female child actor required aged between 9-14.
OTHER ROLES
(All male roles)
1st Mate, 18th century gentleman, little boy, and burglar.
Auditions are to be held at Curtin University between 1st August and 10th August 2005.
