Henrik Ibsen's "Ghosts"
Following our production of "A Chorus Line" in September 2002,
Windmill Productions is pleased to announce that we are holding
auditions for our May production of Ibsen's controversial play,
"Ghosts."
WHEN: Sunday February 16th, from 2pm.
WHERE: Leederville Town Hall, Cambridge St, West Leederville,
(between Holyrood and Southport St).
This play caused a storm of massive proportions when it was
first produced in the late nineteenth century, and is still
capable of raising more than a few eyebrows. Overall, it is the
story of a mother's battle to protect her son from the destructive
influence of his father's lifestyle and legacy.
The cast is small, two women and three men.
Helen Alving - 40-50 years. A brave, capable and
determined woman. Mother of Osvald.
Osvald Alving - 25-30 years. An artist, who is somewhat
self-indulgent and impractical.
Pastor Manders - 45-55 years. A stern and judgemental
man, who believes women should "know
their place."
Regina Engstrand - 18-25 years. Servant to the Alvings.
Somewhat pretentious and ambitious.
Jacob Engstrand - 50-55 years. Father of Regina. Gardener
and handyman, who is sly and self serving.
Rehearsals start on Sunday the 23rd of February, and will most
likely be Wednesday evenings and Sunday afternoons for the remainder
of the rehearsal period.
