This is the first of the famous Whitehall farces in a version adapted by Alan Ayckbourn, who has kept all the original madness but taken out the "in" jokes which can mean little to a modern-day audience.
The plot concerns faked deaths, mistaken identities and a good deal of physical comedy.
The play has been cast with the exception of the role of George Maitland. This character, whilst English, has lived many years in Mexico from where he has suddenly returned unannounced to claim an inheritance, which his English cousin Aubrey Maitland is hoping to acquire for himself.
An actor in his 40's or 50's is required for this role, which while small, affords quite a challenge from an acting and comic point of view.
Please contact the Director, Maggie McInnes, on 9749 9846 for further details.
Rehearsals commence in early October and the show runs from 21st November to 7th December.
